Louisiana Air National Guard provides security, aid and comfort

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Air National Guard mobilized more than 100 Airmen to maintain order and provide assistance at the Celtic Media Centre movie studio facility shelter in Baton Rouge in response to rising floodwaters that forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes, Aug. 14.

Gen. Bradley A. Becker on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Aug. 10, 2016. Robinson met with Becker for an office call and received a command and capabilities brief from the Deputy Commander, Egon Hawrylak. Gen. Robinson visits Military District of Wash.

PETERSON AFB, Colo. — Gen. Lori J. Robinson, commander, NORAD and USNORTHCOM, visited Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Aug. 10, 2016.

Red Flag-Alaska Jumps Off to a Good Start for the 36th Airlift Squadron

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- The last frontier…home to hundreds of mountains that seem to scar the land, glacial rivers that wind through valleys and where millions of visitors travel each year to take in the sights.

Robinson visits Norfolk

DoD Releases Update of Manual Governing Defense Intelligence Activities

WASHINGTON — The Defense Department has released an update of procedures, first published in 1982, that govern the conduct of DoD intelligence activities.

A communications radar unit operated by the 264th Combat Communications Squadron stands ready during Exercise Northern Strike at the Combat Training Readiness Center in Alpena, Mich., on Aug. 9, 2016. Northern Strike 16 is a National Guard Bureau-sponsored exercise uniting approximately 5,000 Army, Air Force, Marine and Special Forces service members from 20 states and three coalition countries during the first three weeks of August 2016 at the Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center and the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, both located in northern Michigan.

Air Guard units provide critical communications link for Northern Strike exercise

GRAYLING, Mich. - Squadrons of Airmen from Illinois and Utah are providing the communications backbone for Northern Strike 2016. The 264th Combat Communications Squadron from Peoria, Illinois, is providing the communications hardware and infrastructure support for the exercise, operating from three locations at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center and the Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center in northern Michigan.

SBIRS GEO Flight 3 Arrives in Florida, Prepares for October Launch

CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Fla — The U.S. Air Force’s Space Based Infrared Systems program completed a major program milestone on Aug. 2, successfully delivering a Geosynchronous Earth Orbit satellite Flight 3 to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

Joint Task Force – West (JTF-W) is part of the Department of Homeland Security's Southern Border and Approaches Campaign Plan. This joint task force structure focuses cross-departmental and integrated counter-network operations on strategic objectives across four geographical corridors. Area networks within the JTF-W Joint Operating Area include supporting components, Department of Defense Commands, International, State, Local, and Tribal entities. JTF-W efforts are designed to extend the border and institutionalize an asymmetric operational agility, effectiveness, and impact against targeted Transnational Criminal Organization (TCO) networks.

Southern Border Visit

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson, commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, travelled the Southern U.S. Border visiting NORTHCOM mission partners and units July 19-21, 2016. She received mission briefs and aerial tours in Texas and Arizona.
