The NORAD and USNORTHCOM Office of the Command Chaplain at held a religious affairs workshop titled "Embracing Complexity-Navigating Uncertainty" March 23, 2017. The three-day event focused on strengthening relationships and interoperability with military mission partners. Attendees included the National Guard, National Guard Bureau, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Command Chaplain, Canadian Armed Forces Chaplain General Representative, NORAD & USNORTHCOM Region, and Component and Subordinate Command Chaplains.

Peterson AFB, Colo. — The NORAD and USNORTHCOM Office of the Command Chaplain at held a religious affairs workshop titled

General Lori Robinson, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command commander, spoke to a full house Saturday afternoon at the Zebulon Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting. More than 80 members, spouses and prospective members gathered at the El Paso Club in downtown Colorado Springs for lunch, socializing and to hear the service’s highest ranking female speak about her role leading the only bi-national command in the world. The general spoke about the complexity of the Commands’ missions to defend the United States and Canada and the trust she has in the U.S. and Canadian service members who work daily to perform the missions. Before closing, the general thanked the organization for their continued support of the military and for embracing the service members into the Colorado Springs community.

USNORTHCOM streamlines command and control

December 14, 2016 — An organizational change designed to improve the operational command and control of U.S. Northern Command’s mission areas was implemented today. Joint Task Force-North in El Paso,Texas, will now be aligned under and report directly to U.S. Army North based in San Antonio, Texas. This mirrors the command relationship retained between ARNORTH and USNORTHCOM’s Joint Task Force Civil Support in Fort Eustis, Va.

Exercise PUMA STRIKE: Royal Canadian Air Force conducts training aboard Miramar

VIGILANT SHIELD 17 Field Training Exercise

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK — Vigilant Shield 17 (VS17) is an annual exercise sponsored by The North American Aerospace Defense Command and led by Alaskan NORAD Region, in conjunction with Canadian NORAD Region and Continental NORAD Region, who undertake field training exercises aimed at improving operational capability in a bi-national environment.

South Carolina National Guard Continues Hurricane Matthew Response

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — The South Carolina National Guard responded to missions along the state’s coastal region yesterday in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, clearing roads so people could return to their homes.

The South Carolina National Guard has assets staged throughout the lowcountry and along the coast to respond to emergency situations during and after Hurricane Matthew, including vehicles that can transport medical personnel and other first responders through high-water areas and engineer assets to help clear debris in the aftermath.
