Army offers more flexibility with new parental leave policy

FORT MEADE, Maryland — The Army has doubled the amount of parental leave available to fathers and other secondary caregivers of newborn infants with a policy that also provides more leave flexibility for mothers.

DIA director delivers Worldwide Threat Assessment

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C. — DIA Director Lt. Gen. Robert Ashley, Jr., along with Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and the heads of the FBI, National Security Agency, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, and CIA, briefed the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on worldwide threats facing the nation during open and closed sessions Jan. 29, on Capitol Hill.

DCRF action officers train for joint operations center success

Fort Eustis, Va. — Almost 40 members of the Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Force (DCRF) gathered here to train as action officers within the joint operations center (JOC), Dec. 11-13.

Joint Task Force Civil Support is prepared for any CBRN Disaster

Fort Eustis, Va. — Task forces can be formed at the time of a crisis, but a unit in Newport News, Va., Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS), works 365 days a year with people on call 24/7 for the past 19 years.

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Bill Hall, JTF-CS commander speaks to senior leaders and representatives at the Mission Planning Conference (MPC), Fort Eustis, Va., Dec. 3-4, 2018. The MPC prepared and strengthened communication roles of the Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Force (DCRF) and other DoD CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE) entities for participation in response operations. JTF-CS focuses on catastrophic scenario at Mission Planning Conference 2018

Fort Eustis, Va. — Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) hosted their semi-annual Mission Planning Conference (MPC) that featured a Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) Drill at Fort Eustis, Va. Dec 3 through 4, 2018, with 58 attendees from 26 organizations and units across the United States and Canada.

Exercise Vibrant Response 2019 (VR-19) Mid Planning Meeting is now underway at Camp Atterbury, Ind. (CAIN). Some 150 active and reserve joint military members; DoD civilians; contractors and interagency representatives like FEMA from more than 50 units or organizations are preparing for VR-19. A nine-member team of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) subject-matter experts from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., participated in an Exercise Guardian Response 2019 (GR-19) training conference at Camp Atterbury Ind., Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, 2018. The event featured more than 350 active and reserve members from the Army, Navy, and Air Force and DoD civilians, representing almost 100 different units of the DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Enterprise (CRE). CBRN Response Enterprise Readies for 2019 Exercise Year, Mission

Camp Atterbury Ind. — More than 360 active and reserve Army, Navy, and Air Force members and DoD civilians from almost 100 different units nationwide representing the DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Enterprise (CRE) met for a training conference at Camp Atterbury Ind., Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, 2018 to plan for Exercise Guardian Response 2019 (GR-19).
