We Have the Watch: NORAD and USNORTHCOM Provided Support to Freedom 250 Grand Prix in the National Capitol Region

North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) demonstrated the strength of their integration in homeland defense efforts this week by respectively securing the airspace and supporting interagency partners with specialized military forces during the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in the National Capital Region (NCR).

NORAD & USNORTHCOM host legal symposium, improve interoperability

PETERSON SFB, CO – The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) 2026 Legal Symposium concluded Aug. 20 following three days of focused engagement on this year’s theme: Building Operational Resilience and Translating it into Legal Clarity.

NORAD, USNORTHCOM host talks with Air Combat Command to strengthen Homeland Defense

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) headquarters hosted staff talks with Air Combat Command Aug. 18–19 to strengthen homeland defense integration, enhance information sharing, and identify opportunities for enhanced collaboration among the headquarters and forces.

The Augmented Reality Tele-mentoring (ARTM) system was recently demonstrated for U.S. Army Col. Matthew Tucker, SOCNORTH Commander, and U.S. Army Col. Ted Brown, U.S. Northern Command Surgeon, highlighting its strategic value for future operations.

North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) convened defense leaders on July 29, 2026, to finalize a strategic framework prioritizing binational Arctic military capabilities.
