A California Air National Guard C-130 aircraft flies by a Nevada Air National Guard C-130 during this week's Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System training and certification. More than 400 personnel of four C-130 Guard and Reserve units — from California, Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming, making up the Air Expeditionary Group — are in Boise, Idaho for the week-long wildfire training and certification sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service.

General Lori Robinson, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command commander, spoke to a full house Saturday afternoon at the Zebulon Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting.  More than 80 members, spouses and prospective members gathered at the El Paso Club in downtown Colorado Springs for lunch, socializing and to hear the service’s highest ranking female speak about her role leading the only bi-national command in the world.  The general spoke about the complexity of the Commands’ missions to defend the United States and Canada and the trust she has in the U.S. and Canadian service members who work daily to perform the missions.  Before closing, the general thanked the organization for their continued support of the military and for embracing the service members into the Colorado Springs community.

Lori Robinson, Commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, welcomed Craig Fugate, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator, to the commands' headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., Sept. 6, 2016.  The two leaders discussed the military's support of civil authorities during natural and man-made disasters in the U.S.  USNORTHCOM's civil support mission includes domestic disaster relief operations that occur during fires, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. The command provides assistance to a lead federal agency, such as FEMA, when tasked by the Department of Defense.
