U.S., Mexican Civilian First Responders Complete Water Search and Rescue Training
First responders from the Mexican states of Jalisco and Michoacán practice rescuing a victim as part of a week-long water search and rescue training exercise in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, March 21, 2017. Training included 20 first responders from Mexico, members of the U.S. Public Health Service and interagency coordination specialists from U.S. Northern Command. First responders performed techniques such as how to quickly assess and classify victims in a mass casualty situation, tie rope and webbing, and improvise an anchor on shore if needed to bring a victim to safety.
