The field kitchen is bound for humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the area Jan. 12. The transport of the Mexican Army field kitchen, by U.S. Transportation Command, is in support of disaster relief efforts in Haiti, and shows the excellent levels of cooperation between both governments and their respective militaries.

The Mexican field kitchen will be able to provide hot meals to refugees and relief workers. The field kitchen, a tractor-trailer turned into a kitchen, is no stranger to relief efforts. The mobile kitchen served 170,000 meals in 20 days to victims and relief workers in San Antonio following hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
