ARNORTH hosts Alaskan Command

Mr. James Parlier, retired U.S. Navy command master chief, speaks to one of his slides during his keynote speech at the annual Spiritual and Emotional Care in Disasters Summit May 24, 2016, at the Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs, CO. Parlier was the command master chief assigned to the guided-missile destroyer U.S.S Cole (DDG-67) on Oct. 12, 2000, when it was subjected to a terrorist attack while in port in Yemen. His emotional presentation focused on the terrorist attack that killed 17 Sailors, the response during and after, and lessons learned. The annual summit is hosted by the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command Chaplain Office.

USNORTHCOM, RBDF to Execute Upcoming Exercise

Nassau, Bahamas - U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Special Operations Command North, and Royal Bahamas Defence Force are working together to execute Exercise MARLIN SHIELD the first two weeks in May. During the exercise, areas in and around Nassau, Bahamas will experience an increased military presence, particularly in the air and sea.

Mr. Luis Felipe Puente (left), Mexico's National Coordinator for Civil Protection, discussed disaster response and preparation with LTG Daniel R. Hokanson (right), USNORTHCOM Deputy Commander, and command staff April 13, 2016. Mr. Puente also briefed the group about Mexico's successful preparation and response to Hurricane Patricia, which occurred October 2015 on Mexico's west coast.

Mexico's National Coordinator for Civil Protection visits NORAD, USNORTHCOM

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Mr. Luis Felipe Puente, Mexico's National Coordinator for Civil Protection, visited NORAD and USNORTHCOM April 13, 2016, to discuss disaster response and preparation with LTG Daniel R. Hokanson, USNORTHCOM Deputy Commander, and command staff.

The Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James Cody visited Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, February 10-12, to meet with Airmen from nearby bases and tour North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command. Cody also gave thanks to the Canadian and interagency counterparts working shoulder-to-shoulder with U.S. servicemembers, stopping to present recognition coins to four U.S. and one Canadian enlisted member for excellence.
