Fact Sheet: U.S. Army North COVID-19 Vaccination Site Support Since February 2021

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — U.S. Army North, U.S. Northern Command's Joint Force Land Component Command, has overseen the Department of Defense's COVID-19 response operation in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services since March 2020. This fact sheet reflects assistance to state-run, federally supported community vaccination centers since February 2021.

ARNORTH to oversee military COVID-19 vaccination support to FEMA in California

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, 222 Soldiers from Fort Carson, Colorado, will deploy in the coming days to Los Angeles, California, to support a state-run, federally supported COVID-19 vaccination center there.

ARNORTH to oversee new military COVID-19 response in Texas, adjust support in two states

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, approximately 80 military medical personnel from across the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force, will deploy to Texas as part of a Department of Defense COVID-19 response operation.

ARNORTH to adjust military COVID-19 response operation in four states, Navajo Nation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, approximately 150 military medical personnel from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army began deploying this week to expand support to California, and approximately 40 U.S. Army Reserve medical personnel deployed to support Arizona as part of a Department of Defense COVID-19 support operation.

U.S. Army North hosted mission partners during the 2020 ARNORTH Hurricane Rehearsal of Concept Drill, held at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston both in-person and virtually, July 9. The event included more than 250 leaders from federal, state, U.S. territories and the military, to discuss their respective courses of action in the event of a hurricane response.

Army North (Fifth Army) transformed the CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle, Washington, from a sports arena to a world-class U.S. Army hospital to help free bed space in local hospitals and allow medical professionals to focus on providing care to #COVID19 patients.

Soldiers rescue two migrants from waters on U.S. border

EL PASO, Texas — Two U.S. Army Soldiers rescued two migrants from canal waters on the U.S. border in El Paso, TX, June 20. The two Soldiers were part of a Mobile Surveillance Team assisting Customs and Border Protection on the Southwest border, saw a migrant family enter the canal.

Joint Task Force Civil Support is prepared for any CBRN Disaster

Fort Eustis, Va. — Task forces can be formed at the time of a crisis, but a unit in Newport News, Va., Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS), works 365 days a year with people on call 24/7 for the past 19 years.

JTF-CS focuses on catastrophic scenario at Mission Planning Conference 2018

Fort Eustis, Va. — Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) hosted their semi-annual Mission Planning Conference (MPC) that featured a Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) Drill at Fort Eustis, Va. Dec 3 through 4, 2018, with 58 attendees from 26 organizations and units across the United States and Canada.

A nine-member team of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) subject-matter experts from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., participated in an Exercise Guardian Response 2019 (GR-19) training conference at Camp Atterbury Ind., Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, 2018. The event featured more than 350 active and reserve members from the Army, Navy, and Air Force and DoD civilians, representing almost 100 different units of the DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Enterprise (CRE). Attendees included units of the Defense CBRN Response Force (DCRF) as well as the Army Reserve CRE Alpha and National Guard CRE Bravo (C2CRE-A/C2CRE-B).
