Sustainment ROC Drill Strengthens Homeland Defense Network, Enables Decision Advantage

The mandate to “find the seams” amidst plans, policies and agencies was the driving force behind the recent NORAD and USNORTHCOM Sustainment Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) Drill, a collaborative event focused on readiness, logistics integration and inter-agency coordination. The event drew in over 100 participants with personnel traveling from as far north as Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and as far south as Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The conference exercised the commands' ability to sustain operations in a wartime environment.

Joint Task Force – Southern Border Conducts Transfer of Authority from 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) to 1st Armored Division

TUCSON, Ariz — The Department of War established Joint Interagency Task Force-Counter Cartel (JIATF-CC) under U.S. Northern Command.

U.S. Coast Guard, USS Sampson conduct drug interdiction in Eastern Pacific

PACIFIC OCEAN — The U.S. Coast Guard, in coordination with the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102), interdicted two suspected drug smugglers, and seized approximately 3,439 pounds of cocaine in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean July 10.

Sampson is employed under U.S. Northern Command's maritime homeland defense authorities with a Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment embarked to enable maritime interdiction missions to prevent the flow of illegal drugs and other illegal activity. USS Cole Assists Royal Canadian Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Conduct At-Sea Transfer of Intercepted Contraband

CARIBBEAN SEA — The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67), supporting maritime southern border operations, conducted a hold-and-transfer of 245 kilograms of contraband recovered by the Royal Canadian Navy Harry DeWolf-class offshore patrol vessel HMCS William Hall (AOPV 433) in the Caribbean Sea June 9. The Reliance-class U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Cutter Vigorous (WMEC 627) accepted the contraband from the Cole’s embarked USCG Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) June 11 during a rendezvous at sea in the Caribbean.
