Air Force Master Sgt. When fired, the MAFFS II system releases 3,000 gallons (27,000 pounds) of water or retardant in five seconds with a force equal to that of one of the C-130’s four engines. The 302nd Airlift Wing is the only Air Force Reserve wing that supports aerial firefighting and one of only four Air Force units that support the MAFFS mission.

Attendees at the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Maritime Stakeholders Conference participate in a panel discussion on information sharing March 31. Nearly 250 people from the U.S. and Canadian navies as well as civilian maritime agencies participated in the conference, which consisted of presentations, panel discussions and tabletop exercises.

The field kitchen is bound for humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the area Jan. 12.

Gene Renuart, commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM at a conference where he wore a traditional Canadian hockey jersey to honor his bi-national command and Canada’s victory over the U.S. for Olympic gold. Renuart spoke about the importance of words and images in communication strategy at the NORAD and USNORTHCOM public affairs conference at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. March 2. NORAD is a bi-national command of Canada and the U.S. charged with aerospace warning and control and maritime warning of North America.
