Exercise Vital Archer 2023

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colorado – Vital Archer 23, a bilateral exercise focused on counterterrorism and counter weapons of mass destruction, came to a close June 22, 2023, across the United States and Canada. Led by U.S. Northern Command and Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, Vital Archer 23 featured approximately 1,400 participants from 23 U.S. and Canadian government agencies from across both nations’ national security enterprises, with special operations forces from both nations.

U.S. Northern Command Supports DHS with Active Duty Personnel

At the request of the Department of Homeland Security and with approval from the Secretary of Defense, 1,500 active duty military service members under the command and control of U.S. Northern Command will deploy to the U.S. southwest border in the coming days to provide support to Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

U.S. Northern Command Update on Recovery Operations

At the direction of the President of the United States, fighter aircraft assigned to U.S. Northern Command successfully took down a high altitude airborne object off the northern coast of Alaska at 1:45 pm Eastern Standard Time Feb. 10 within U.S. sovereign airspace over U.S. territorial water.
