U.S. Air Force senior leaders visited the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command Headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., April 18, 2020, for discussions on the military's COVID-19 response and homeland defense.
U.S. Air Force Gen. Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy, commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM, briefed the Secretary of the Air Force, Barbara M. Barrett and Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Gen. David L. Goldfein, during their visit to the commands' headquarters.
While doing social distancing from a separate room, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Paul G. McKenna, the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, spoke with Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force, Chief Master Sgt. Kaleth O. Wright.
The military leaders discussed homeland defense operations amidst the ongoing war on COVID-19. Gen. O'Shaughnessy highlighted NORAD and USNORTHCOM’s continued focus on defending the homelands and protecting its people, while contributing more than 15,000 DoD personnel to the whole-of-America COVID-19 response.
