Medical Reserve units join US Army North COVID-19 operations in Texas
FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, three U.S. Army Reserve Urban Augmentation Medical Task Forces deployed as part of the Department of Defense’s ongoing COVID-19 operations in Texas. U.S. Army North, U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Force Land Component Command, continues to oversee the military operation in support of federal efforts and the state.

ARNORTH to oversee military COVID-19 operations in Texas, California
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state officials, approximately 740 Department of Defense medical and support professionals from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force are assigned as part of DOD’s ongoing COVID-19 operations in Texas and California. As part of the whole-of-America response, U.S. Army North, U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Forces Land Component Command, will oversee the military operation in support of federal efforts and the state.

Rapid Deployment Team assists ARNORTH medical units supply needs

433rd AW mobilizes medics for COVID-19 response
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, TEXAS — In less than 36 hours, nine medics from the 433rd Airlift Wing and an Individual Mobilization Augmentee from the 59th Medical Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland mobilized and deployed to New York City on a C-5M Super Galaxy April 5, 2020, to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Army is assembling a 250-bed field hospital in Seattle that's meant to treat non-COVID-19 patients so area hospitals will be able to free up their own beds to care for those who have contracted the disease.
