ARNORTH to oversee military COVID-19 operations in Texas, California
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state officials, approximately 740 Department of Defense medical and support professionals from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force are assigned as part of DOD’s ongoing COVID-19 operations in Texas and California. As part of the whole-of-America response, U.S. Army North, U.S. Northern Command’s Joint Forces Land Component Command, will oversee the military operation in support of federal efforts and the state.

Rapid Deployment Team assists ARNORTH medical units supply needs
MECHANICSBURG, Pennsylvania — Charlie Hughley is helping the RDT determine supply needs for ARNORTH medical units mobilizing to assist hard-hit communities. He’s expediting and tracking delivery for items like respirators, protective gowns and gloves for the 337th Theater Sustainment Command, as well as the 3rd, 4th and 13th Expeditionary Support Commands.

USNORTHCOM streamlines command and control
December 14, 2016 — An organizational change designed to improve the operational command and control of U.S. Northern Command’s mission areas was implemented today. Joint Task Force-North in El Paso,Texas, will now be aligned under and report directly to U.S. Army North based in San Antonio, Texas. This mirrors the command relationship retained between ARNORTH and USNORTHCOM’s Joint Task Force Civil Support in Fort Eustis, Va.

Inter-American relations program benefit Mexico, U.S. militaries
Lt. Gen. Perry L. Wiggins, commanding general of U.S. Army North and Fifth Army, hosted a U.S. Military and Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional delegation in Kansas City, Kansas, as part of the 70th Fifth Army Inter-American Relations Program July 18 to 22. The visit included a stop at Fort Riley to meet with 1st Infantry Division Soldiers.

U.S. Army North, Indiana DHS announce exercise
FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas – U. S. Army North, U. S. Northern Command’s Joint Force Land Component Command, will host about 5,500 military and civilian personnel from across the country to take part in a major training exercise simulating the response to a terrorist attack in the United States.
