1st Air Cavalry Brigade supports Southern Border mission with exfiltration operations

U.S. Army Soldiers with 3rd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, with Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), conduct air movement operations using CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters during an exfiltration mission near Fort Huachuca, Ariz., April 2, 2026. The mission supported the exfiltration of Soldiers with JTF-SB, who had provided additional manpower and resources to Customs and Border Protection personnel along the southern barrier. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
