TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - Members of the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center manage critical search and rescue missions on the operations floor on May 29, 2025. AFRCC recently marked a significant milestone, surpassing 20,000 lives saved on May 28, 2025, during the rescue of two stranded hikers in Boise County, Idaho. As the United States’ inland search and rescue coordinator, AFRCC serves as the single agency responsible for coordinating on-land federal SAR activities in the 48 contiguous United States, Mexico, and Canada.
