DLA provides critical mapping support, enables USNS Comfort’s COVID-19 NYC support

RICHMOND, VA - The Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort arrived in New York Harbor, March 30, 2020 to assist in the COVID-19 response. USNS Comfort officials reached out to Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Mapping Customer Operations March 19 with an emergency request for 13 nautical maps before leaving Norfolk Naval Station March 28. Print-on-demand capabilities allowed DLA to fill the request within three hours.
