Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Dr. Mark T. Esper receives a COVID-19 briefing from the commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Gen. Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy during his visit to the commands' headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, May 7. Secretary Esper and Gen. O'Shaughnessy discussed how U.S. Northern Command conducted COVID-19 response operations through virtual edge computing and cloud based servers. The visit also gave Secretary Esper the opportunity to express his gratitude to NORAD and USNORTHCOM personnel for defending the homeland while contributing to the whole of America response to the pandemic.
