PETERSON AIR
FORCE BASE, Colo. – North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern
Command will begin exercise ARDENT SENTRY 14 today, a major annual exercise
focused on Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
The exercise will
be primarily a command post exercise, but will incorporate field training
events within the exercise. This year ARDENT SENTRY is being executed as part
of the National Exercise Program’s Capstone Exercise which links national,
regional and state-sponsored exercises into a “one exercise,one-world”
environment for the purposes of operational management, resource allocation and
decision making.
ARDENT SENTRY 14
will be conducted March 27-April 3, 2014. The majority of the exercise
events will take place in Alaska as part of a complex catastrophe (earthquake)
multi-state scenario.
