Wednesday, Thursday: FEMA, DHS, USNORTHCOM, U.S. Chamber and American Red Cross hold public private partnership conference

WASHINGTON - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of the Private Sector, the U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross will hold a national public private partnership conference, "Building Resilience through Public-Private Partnerships," on Wednesday, August 3 and Thursday, August 4 in Washington, DC.

The event, hosted at the U.S. Chamber Headquarters on Wednesday and the American Red Cross Headquarters on Thursday, will provide public and private sector organizations an opportunity to learn, discuss and share practices that will enhance our nation's resiliency.

The event will include cutting edge panelists, interactive workshops, and working groups that will explore creative ways for public private partnership collaboration before, during and after an emergency. Scheduled speakers include DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate, former DHS Secretary Tom Ridge, representatives from NORTHCOM, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the American Red Cross, Target, Big Lots and Verizon, to name a few.
