PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – U. S. Army North, U. S. Northern Command’s Joint Force Land Component Command will host more than 4500 military and civilian personnel from around the country to take part in a Field Training Exercise simulating a terrorist attack in the United States.
The exercise, Vibrant Response FTX, takes place Nov. 6-12 at Camp Atterbury, Ind. and surrounding area.
The FTX training is to involve urban and aerial search and rescue missions, nuclear, biological and radiological decontamination, airlift, medical training and many other events with excellent still photo or video opportunities.
Joint Task Force Civil Support, Fort Monroe, Va., and members of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive Consequence Management Response Force 10.1 will work with other federal, state, and local emergency responders during the exercise.
The
CCMRF is the CBRNE Consequence Management Response Force. It is a robust, scalable federal entry force task-organized to mitigate loss of life and relieve suffering in response to a natural or manmade CBRNE disaster.
The CCMRF is organized into three task forces and an augmentation cell. Their capabilities include CBRNE technical response, decontamination, aviation, medical, logistics and other functions.
When directed by Commander,
USNORTHCOM, USARNORTH deploys JTF-CS to command and control DoD forces providing support to civil authorities in order to save lives, prevent further injury and provide temporary critical support.
JTF-CS is the nation’s only standing Joint operational headquarters dedicated exclusively to planning and integrating DoD forces in response to domestic CBRNE incidents.
Media covering the exercise will see multi-story building and tunnel reconnaissance, rubble pile extraction as well as medical treatment of patience and aerial reconnaissance.
