U.S. Northern Command unveils website

PETERSON AFB, Colo. - The United States Northern Command unveiled its website today. The site can be viewed at www.northcom.mil. Once you access the website you will be able to learn about this new command and its mission. There are fact sheets, press releases and the history of homeland defense. Photos depicting USNORTHCOM’s mission are also placed throughout the site.

The website has a variety of features with more than 50 pages and 70 links to related sites. Mr. Michael Perini, the interim Public Affairs Director for the command said the website was designed to be informative and user friendly. "We wanted a site that represented the professionalism of the people in Northern Command and was easy for users worldwide to learn about us."

The site includes a "Newsroom". "We will post late breaking news releases, advisories and feature stories," Perini said. "The site describes who we are and has a very good description of our roles and missions. Viewers will also find excellent information on homeland defense and useful fact sheets."

Perini said that the site includes a "Kids and Education" section. News video and sound files will also be posted.

This website is a collaborative effort of USNORTHCOM’s Public Affairs Office, the Directorate of Architecture and Integration and Booz-Allen & Hamilton of Colorado Springs.
