PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command will begin exercise ARDENT SENTRY 14 today, a major annual exercise focused on Defense Support of Civil Authorities.

The exercise will be primarily a command post exercise, but will incorporate field training events within the exercise. This year ARDENT SENTRY is being executed as part of the National Exercise Program’s Capstone Exercise which links national, regional and state-sponsored exercises into a “one exercise,one-world” environment for the purposes of operational management, resource allocation and decision making.

ARDENT SENTRY 14 will be conducted March 27-April 3, 2014.  The majority of the exercise events will take place in Alaska as part of a complex catastrophe (earthquake) multi-state scenario.
