FEMA Administrator visits U.S. Northern Command

Gen. Lori Robinson, Commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, welcomed Craig Fugate, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator, to the commands' headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., Sept. 6, 2016.

The two leaders discussed the military's support of civil authorities during natural and man-made disasters in the U.S.  USNORTHCOM's civil support mission includes domestic disaster relief operations that occur during fires, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. The command provides assistance to a lead federal agency, such as FEMA, when tasked by the Department of Defense.
