North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S.Northern Command Change of Command

COLORADO SPRINGS – North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command will hold a change of command ceremony Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.

Admiral Timothy Keating will replace Gen. Ralph “Ed” Eberhart as commander, NORAD and USNORTHCOM. Adm. Keating will be the first-ever non-Air Force commander of NORAD and only the second commander of USNORTHCOM. Adm. Keating will hold a short media availability immediately following the ceremony.

Guests of honor are expected to include Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul D. Wolfowitz and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers.
