NORAD and USNORTHCOM to host media day

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command are opening their command center doors to the media on Jan. 22 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Media will tour the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Integrated Command Center and speak with the NORAD Deputy Commander and the USNORTHCOM Deputy Commander to gain first-hand knowledge of how both commands execute their missions.
Topics of discussion will include: understanding the NORAD and USNORTHCOM cooperation that takes place every day; understanding the importance to have resilient, redundant and distributed systems with no single point of failure; and understanding the importance of having a common operational picture.
