Hometown News Release

The Joint Hometown News Service is directorate of the Defense Media Activity, providing Hometown News Program support to the Department of Defense and military services. Currently headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, assigned to Defense Media Activity - San Antonio, the small staff of 39 military and civilian personnel produce a variety of print and electronic news products highlighting the accomplishments, and worldwide activities of individual members of the Armed Forces. Each year over 500,000 individual news releases are distributed to the 14,000 newspapers, television and radio stations subscribing to Hometown's free service. Instructions on how to complete the form are listed at the top of the form. The link can be accessed through any computer. Once the form is completed, the information will be automatically sent to the public affairs workflow box (usnorthcom.pa@northcom.mil). The workflow box monitor will forward the form for review to the hometown news program manager. The program manager will review the form and either submit for processing and/or follow-up with the submitter if more information is needed.
